Honey Bee Sneak Peek Day Four: Well, Goodness Gracious
This is Day Four of the BEE BOLD Summer Release Sneak Peeks for Honey Bee Stamps. Be sure to visit the Honey Bee Stamp Blog to see what the other DT members have created.
I was born and raised in the north, but I have lived in different parts of the south for nearly 30 years of my adult life. So, when I saw the Goodness Gracious Stamp Set, I laughed out loud and knew that I had to use it immediately. It’s right up there with the saying, “Well, Bless Your Heart!” LOL

I also wanted to use at least one of the new flower sets in the sneak peeks. I stamped a flower, from the Cosmos Stamp Set, onto Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock using Ranger’s Black Archival Ink. Yes…I own many watercolor paint sets, but once again I pulled out my Distress Inks! I used Weathered Wood and Iced Spruce. I also mixed Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet and added it for a touch of depth. I used a #2 and #4 DaVinci Cosmotop Spin brush.
I fussy cut the flower using EK Success Cutter Bee Scissors. I cut off the stem to cut around the leaves. It is easier and you can just glue the stem back in place. I cut the flower shape out of Simon Says Stamp Black Cardstock, using the coordinating Cosmos Die Set. I offset the flower slightly and glued it to the black cutout using a Lawn Fawn Glue Tube.
I wanted something stylish and modern to showcase the single flower. I left the Sentiment Banner Dies intact and used them to emboss a background. They were taped onto a panel of #110 Neenah Cardstock. I laid a tan embossing mat underneath and changed my die cutting platform to the Tab 1 setting. It embossed the cardstock and did not cut it.
I cut the sentiment, using the coordinating Goodness Gracious Die Set, from white cardstock. Don’t lose the tiny tittle! I also cut a shadow piece from a scrap of the black cardstock. They were glued together using Lawn Fawn Glue.
I cut apart my Sentiment Banner Dies and chose two of the smaller sizes. As I have said in previous posts, I love my MISTI and the Creative Corners for lining up sentiments easily.
Now for the part that makes everybody squirm! I used my scissors to carefully cut apart the sentiments from the Goodness Gracious Stamp Set. I promise you that it doesn’t harm them and they can be reassembled and used as they were intended!! The sentiments were added to the card front using Scotch Foam Tape for added dimension.
To finish the card, I assembled the panel using a Kokuyo Tape Runner, onto a piece of Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock, and then onto a #110 Neenah Solar Crest Cardstock card base. I stamped two more of the sentiments, from the Goodness Gracious Stamp Set, on the inside.
I love the clean and simple style of this card. I can’t help but read the sentiment with a Southern accent and smile a little!
Thanks for joining me today. Be sure to check back each day for more sneak peeks of the new release. I will also be part of the two day BEE BOLD Blog Hop on Friday, where you will be able to find additional inspiration.
Joyfully,
Jo Ann
