Creative Sundays With Jo Ann: You Make My Tail Wag
I hope that you have been enjoying all the new products from the Honey 4th BEEday Release. I thought that I would share some inspiration today using the new Puppy Love Stamp Set and the Dog House Die Set. Let’s jump right in and get started.
(Products highlighted in teal are active links to the shop.)
I started by stamping the Dachshund and accessories, from the Puppy Love Stamp Set, using Copic friendly Gina K Black Amalgam Ink and #80 Neenah cardstock. I colored the images using Copic markers. The images were cut using the coordinating Puppy Love Die Set. I also cut two hearts from the set using a scrap of Hero Arts Azalea Cardstock.
The dog house was cut from Altenew Wood Grain Bark cardstock, and the roof was cut from Ellen Hutson Woodgrain cardstock, using the Dog House Die Set. I lightly went over the doghouse using Hero Arts White Unicorn pigment ink with a finger dauber. I also edged the roof with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I cut another scrap of the woodgrain cardstock for the inside wall and went over it lightly with the Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I adhered it to the back of the doghouse with Scotch Foam Tape.
For the background panel I used the Outdoor Scene Stencil Set, Picket Fence Studio Life Changing Brushes, and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to create a sky. I must have had some leftover green ink still on my brush, but I liked the color so I left it. For the ground I brushed on Twisted Citron.
I added Hero Arts Glue to the back of the dog house. Adding glue over the tape gives me a little wiggle room when I am trying to line everything up. I added Scotch foam tape to the part of the dog that did not overlap the house. I realized that the head also needed some support so I slipped a piece of foam tape under it.
The sentiment is from the Friends Furever Stamp Set. It was stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed using Hero Arts White Detail Embossing Powder. The sentiment was cut using the coordinating Friends Furever Die Set. I cut three more pieces and glued them together for added dimension.
I adhered the panel to a piece of Desert Storm cardstock, and then onto a #110 Neenah Cardstock folded card base, using a Kokuyo Tape Runner.
I felt that the house and the dog needed to be grounded so I used one of the thin brushes, from the Picket Fence brushes, and Crushed Olive Distress Ink to carefully add a shadow.
For a finishing touch I added some of the new Strawberry Ice Heart Embellishments to the card using a double ended jewel picker and a Hero Arts Glue Pen. I added little wiggle marks around his tail with a Brown 0.3 Copic Multiliner pen.
Along with the Friends Furever sentiments, this card would also be cute using the Welcome Home Stamp Set. You could use “Welcome To The Neighborhood,” “Congratulations On Your New Home,” etc. There are so many options.
As always, thank you for sharing a bit of your time with me today on another creative journey!
Joyfully, Jo Ann
