For my final card, during this week of sneak peeks, I decided to make a Teacher card. All my children are grown, and have children of their own, so I will most likely give it to one of them to use. It won’t be the first card that they have snagged!

I started the card by cutting the three scallop frames with the coordinating Truly Great Friends Die Set. I cut two from Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red Cardstock and one from #110 Neenah Solar Classic Cardstock. I also cut a panel of Desert Storm Khaki Cardstock smaller than the cardbase.

While I was cutting things out I also cut three Teacher sentiments, using the Special Teacher Die Set, from Simon Says Stamp Black Cardstock. I used the shadow die to cut a piece from a scrap of white cardstock. They were stacked and glued using a Lawn Fawn Glue Tube.

I stamped some small apples from Warm Wishes Stamp Set. They were watercolored and cut out using the coordinating Warm Wishes Die Set. I ended up needing only one but I am sure that I will find a use for them with Fall only a month away.

I stamped more sentiments, from the Special Teacher Stamp Set, onto the white inner piece of the frame.

~ Here’s where things went sideways!! LOL ~

I assembled everything together using a combination of a Kokuyo Tape Runner and a Lawn Fawn Glue Tube and decided that it was too plain. You don’t usually get to see where I make mistakes…or go in a different direction…because I don’t do videos…yet!

I tried to take it apart but the only thing that I could salvage was the white piece inside the frame. LOL It’s only paper! So…I quickly recut the frame and another piece of Desert Storm.

I stamped the plaid pattern, from the Bitty Patterns Stamp Set, using Hero Arts Strawberry Ink onto the Khaki cardstock. I was pleased with how easy it was to stamp the repeating pattern if you start in one corner and work across the paper and then upwards. It lines up beautifully. I used the MISTI and Creative Corners for ease but it can be easily done with an acrylic block as well.

Everything was once again assembled, using a tape runner and glue, layered onto some Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red cardstock, and then onto a cardbase. The Teacher sentiment and apple were glued in place.

Even with my restart…this card came together fast. There are many fabulous sentiments in the Special Teacher Stamp Set. So, if you are like me and don’t have school age children, you can use it in combination with other sentiments that you might own.
