Honey Bee Sneak Peek Day One: Enjoy Your Birthday
This is Day One of the BEE BOLD Summer Release Sneak Peeks for Honey Bee Stamps. Be sure to visit the Honey Bee Stamp Blog to see what the other DT members have created.
I used three new products in today’s card. The first is the Stacking Pennants. There are 10 dies included in the set. I also used the Enjoy Stamp and Coordinating Die Set.

The Stacking Pennant Dies can obviously be used as pennants, but I wanted to play with them in a different way. Instead of cutting them out I traced inside various sizes onto some Tim Holtz Watercolor cardstock. There really was no rhyme or reason to how I laid them out, and some of the smaller sizes were used multiple times.
I pulled out my Tim Holtz Distress Inks and a #2 and #4 DaVinci Cosmotop Spin paintbrush. I had intended to go in rainbow order, but too many of the triangles overlapped and it was getting confusing, so I just threw caution to the wind and had a “Happy Carefree Painting Party!” I started out with about eight ink cubes, and as you can see, I just kept adding more colors!!
When everything was dry, I went back with a ruler and a Black Pigma Micron 03 marker to reinforce the outlines.
I needed a sentiment but didn’t want to cover up all the pretty colors. I chose the Enjoy Stamp and Coordinating Die Set. I die cut the word Enjoy from Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock four times. I stacked and glued them using a Lawn Fawn Glue Tube. Be careful not to lose the tittles over the J. I stamped the rest of the sentiment using a MISTI. After all that work I wanted to make certain that I had everything aligned correctly and I wanted to be able to restamp if I didn’t get a clean impression the first time on the bumpy watercolor paper.
I cut another piece of black cardstock to frame the card. I assembled the card, using a Kokuyo Tape Runner, onto a #110 Neenah Solar Cardstock card base.
I really enjoyed just sitting back and letting my creativity flow. There are several other shaped die sets being released this week. They will also work well to make a card like this.
Thanks for joining me today. Be sure to check back each day for more sneak peeks of the new release. I will also be part of the BEE BOLD Blog Hop, where you will be able to find additional inspiration.
Joyfully,
Jo Ann
