Do you remember the motivational poster from 1971, where the cat is hanging from a tree limb? It said “Hang In There.” I had one in my college dorm room. Yep, I have just dated myself…for anyone who had any doubts. LOL

Today’s card started with the cute cat, kite, and butterfly images from the new Oh My Whiskers Stamp Set. It was stamped with Copic friendly Gina K Black Amalgam Ink on #80 Neenah cardstock.
After stamping the images I colored in the Kite. I taped along the edges with low tack Purple Tape and laid the Friends Furever Stencil on top. I traced around the paw prints with an 0.2 Copic Multiliner and used a Copic 0 Colorless Blender, dabbing lightly to remove the color. You can continue to dab until you get it as light as you would like.
The rest of the images were colored and cut out with the coordinating Oh My Whiskers Die Set.
To create the background, I used Tim Holtz’s handy trick. The Sizzix Sticky Grid Sheets are tacky on both sides. I attached one side to my work surface and laid a piece of #80 Neenah cardstock on top. It holds the paper in place beautifully. As long as you don’t get ink on the sticky sheets, they can be reused multiple times.
Using the Outdoor Scene Builder Stencil, and Picket Fence Studio Life Changing Brushes, I added clouds in rainbow order using Distress Oxide Inks.
For the sentiment, I used the new Purrrfect Sentiment Stamp Set. I prepped black cardstock with an anti static pouch, stamped with Versamark Ink, and heat embossed using Hero Arts White Powder. It was die cut using the coordinating Purrrfect Sentiment Die Set.
I layered the rainbow panel onto a piece of black cardstock and then a piece of diagonally striped paper from the MFT Black & White Stripes 6X6 paper pack, using a Kokuyo Tape Runner. It was then layered onto a #110 Neenah Cardstock folded cardbase.
To finish the card, I cut three more kite shapes and three more sentiment shapes. They were stacked and glued together. All the images and the sentiment were glued to the card. I use Lawn Fawn, Gina K, and Hero Arts Glue Pens interchangeably. I find that they all work beautifully. They are perfect for fine detail work. I tend to buy 5-10 of each whenever I place an order with one of the companies. Yes…I use and love them that much!
I don’t have my poster anymore, but this would look cute hanging in one of my granchildren’s bedrooms. They would get a kick out of it.
Thanks for joining me today. Be sure to check back each day for more sneak peeks of the new release. I will also be part of the two day HAPPY BEEday Blog Hop on Friday and Saturday, April 19th and 20th, where you will be able to find additional inspiration.
Joyfully,
Jo Ann
