Honey Bee Sneak Peek Day Two: Congrats…Well Done!
It’s Release Week at Honey Bee Stamps. This is Day Two of the Cheerful Love Sneak Peeks. Today I am sharing a glimpse of the Congrats Grad stamp set, with 25 sentiments and an exclamation point to mix and match, and the Penny The Platypus stamp set. Penny is adorable and comes with a mortarboard graduation hat and diploma, balloons, and a multitude of accessories and items to carry to fit any occasion. I was itching to share Penny the Platypus with you but I will be using her in tomorrow’s sneak peek!

Graduations will be upon us before you know it. I personally struggle with making masculine cards so I thought that I would share a Clean and Simple card that can be used for any gender. And…if you are like me…making it an hour or two before you are walking out the door to said graduation! LOL
I started with the graduation hat and the diploma from the Penny The Platypus stamp set. They were stamped with Ranger Archival Black ink on Tim Holtz Watercolor cardstock. I do have other watercolors, but honestly, I reach for my Distress Inks out of habit. LOL When the images were dry I fussy cut them with my EK Success Cutter Bee Scissors.
While I wanted this to be a simple card, with clean lines, I still wanted it to have a little something extra so I pulled out my Martha Stewart Score board. I believe that this has been discontinued but EK Success makes one that is identical. I will share the link below. I cut a piece of white cardstock to 5” x 3.75” and added scored lines at (3 2/8) (3 3/8) (3 5/8) (3 6/8) (4) (4 1/8).
I selected two sentiments from the Congrats Grad stamp set. I used my MISTI to stamp them because I knew that the descenders on the Congratulations sentiment would hit the scored lines and would most likely need to be re-stamped to get good coverage. I used Hero Arts Black ink.
To finish, I added Scotch Foam Tape to the mortarboard hat to give the card a little more dimension. You could easily glue it flat for easier mailing. The diploma was glued on using Ranger Multi Matte Medium and the layers were assembled using a Kokuyo Dot Tape Liner. I love the simplistic elegance of this card. I added three dots to the “…well done” using a Sakura Pigma Micron 05 black pen.
Keep checking back each day for more sneak peeks of the new release. The links below are active for the products used. I will be part of the new release Blog Hop and you will be able to find more inspiration and all the new products here, at 7:00 am CST on Friday, February 23rd.
Joyfully, Jo Ann
